FMEC Attendee Terms and Conditions
To all attendees of FMEC meetings:
By applying for and attending an FMEC meeting, attendees agree to abide by all terms and conditions set forth below.
1. The attendance fee is 500 yen per FMEC meeting. Payments with 10, 5, and 1 yen coins are not acceptable.
2. Attendance fees must be collected around 20:30~20:45. FMEC organizers will distribute a small bag with a collection sheet to each table. Please write down your name on the sheet and put 500 yen and the sheet into the bag.
3. Native English speakers, foreigners who can speak English at a native-like level and FMEC organizers are exempt from attendance fees except for special events such as BBQ.
4. An application is required to attend an FMEC meeting. Before attending each meeting, please sign up on Meetup or with the mail form on the FMEC website. FMEC asks for your understanding that your participation may be turned down if you don’t apply for it in advance.
5. Attendees should not talk on their mobile devices at FMEC meetings.
6. Since exchanging or handing out business cards during the meeting is regarded as behavior unrelated to FMEC, attendees are kindly requested to refrain from doing so.
7. Every attendee is expected to be considerate towards each other so that NO attendee feels left out in conversations during FMEC meetings.
8. After every FMEC meeting, the attendees’ cooperation in putting away the tables, chairs, and other small items would be highly appreciated. Please note that attendees should leave the meeting room by 20:55, and the community center by 21:00.
9. It is imperative that attendees who are 18 years of age or younger show a written note of consent from parents or guardian(s) to the club and keep it with them throughout the FMEC meeting. Attendees of elementary school age or younger will be denied entry even if they are accompanied by their parent(s) or guardian(s). Your kind understanding would be highly appreciated.
10. Attendance fees will be collected and kept in reserve for FMEC. Based on the judgment of the FMEC organizing team, the money will be spent in the following ways: website management, fees for venues of FMEC meetings, necessary stationery for FMEC meetings, copying materials, and subsidies to dining costs for foreign guests authorized by FMEC.
11. FMEC reserves the right to eject attendees from meetings and terminate their memberships if their behaviors are deemed troublesome. Such behavior includes, but is not limited to: sending unsolicited emails to other attendees, sexual harassment, racist remarks, insults to other attendees, acts of violence, online character assassinations, irreverent commercial activities NOT approved by the FMEC organizing team, insults to FMEC organizers, and any interference with an FMEC meeting.
12. FMEC does NOT bear any responsibility whatsoever for thefts, accidents, items left behind, missing things in the meeting room, or personal troubles between attendees.
